Welcome

Welcome to Shadow of the Moon
An Alliance Guild on the World of Warcraft Sisters of Elune (RP) Server

At the beginning of the New Age in the land of Azeroth, a fellowship rose from within the Alliance.  This fellowship, conceived by the Ancients, was designed to shift the balance of the land towards the greater good.  Drawing their power from the heavens, these once lonely travelers found purpose in guarding the Light.  Molded by the hands of our founding members, the Shadow of the Moon was born.

The Shadow of the Moon is a roleplaying guild on the Sisters of Elune server. We function as an extended family, assisting each other with quests, items, instances, and having fun. Honesty, respect, integrity, charity, and compassion are hallmarks of our group. The atmosphere of friendship and family is, for us, the foundation of everything.

Mt. Hyjal Event
lucky4clover, Feb 14, 10 11:44 AM.

A great big thank you to all the Moonies and our friends from Clockwerk who participated in the RP run of the Mt. Hyjal raid this Friday.  With all of the interest, we were able to bring along a full 25 people and even handed out a handful of upgrades to the 70-somethings who were there.

Thanks especially to Jehanne, who has worked so hard to set up the Ley Lines story and did all the planning for the raid.  Also, a big thank you to Leo, who researched the fights so that we all knew what we would be up against.

If you haven't already, please take a moment to write your character(s)' response(s) to the raid in the thread Jehanne has started on the Open RP board.

Your Guide to Finding RP Events with SotM
lucky4clover, Feb 11, 10 5:59 PM.

Welcome to this, the first installment of Better Know YOUR SotM Website!
Today's topic:  Staying informed of RP events

Do you often wonder when events are happening?  Do you frequently log in to find that an RP event has been scheduled or is on-going and this is the first you've heard of it?  Don't fear - the SotM website has all the answers you need!

The first, and simplest, way to find out when things are happening is our Calendar!  This has dates, times, and a short description of every upcoming event for the guild - RP, meetings, and often Clockwerk's RP events as well.  The Calendar is your one-stop-shop for staying connected.

Next up, the Guild Event Forum!  Nearly every non-recurring event we host will have a thread on this page with a blurb, time, and location.  Also, the Event forum is the perfect place to propose new ideas for guild RP events.  That's right!  We want YOU to help us create and plan events for the guild, and would be thrilled to hear any suggestions you may have.

If the event is a Big Deal, you may even see a notice about it here, on the News Feed.  This displays our most recent news stories here, on the main page, and then archives them under the tab marked "News" on the navigation bar.

Another great way to stay informed about what events are upcoming is to attend our monthly guild meetings.  These are generally held on the first Monday of the month, at 8 p.m. server.  Not able to make it?  That's ok!  We take minutes at the meeting and post all of the important information on the Meetings page.

Finally, there is the In-Game Calendar.  Ever notice that little button on your minimap that just happens to have today's date on it?  Well that's your in-game Calendar!  Click on it to find a variety of information that WoW has already provided for you - when holidays begin and end, when your raid and heroic locks expire, and more.  The guild also uses that calendar for things like scheduling meetings, announcing RP events, and requesting sign-ups for raids.  If you see a flashing question mark on your calendar, it means that you've been invited to a new event.  The details for an event will be displayed once you click on that individual event on the calendar.  Make sure you take the time to read the details, too.  Wondering whether the raid will be heading for ToC, ICC, or doing the weekly first?  Read the event details - I'll just bet that your answer is there.

Thanks for taking the time to get to know your SotM website a little better today.  If you have questions or suggestions about how it can be organized better, or other places you would like us to make this information available, just let one of the officers know!

Looking for RP?
lucky4clover, Jan 21, 10 10:01 AM.

If you are, don't forget about two weekly recurring events:

The Wandering Dragon
Our RP tavern is held every Friday night at 8 p.m. server.  We gather at the tavern in the Dwarven District to share stories, have a few drinks, and just generally have fun.

Clockwerk's Inspection Tours
Our allied guild Clockwerk hosts these tours every Monday night, generally at 7:30 p.m. server.  Participants walk around the chosen location and "inspect" the structures for code violations and structural soundness.  The location varies from week to week, so look for Nozz's posts on Clockwerk's forums or on the official server forums for details.

Marrowgar Down!
lucky4clover, Dec 15, 09 11:14 AM.

Congratulations to our raiders who saw Lord Marrowgar, the first boss of the new Icecrown Citadel raid, downed on both the Sunday and Monday night raids.

Great job, guys.  Lady Deathwhisper is shaking in her .. um, boots that she doesn't have due to her lack of feet?

Ulduar raid achievements
lucky4clover, Sep 30, 09 11:03 PM.

A huge congrats is in order for our Ulduar attendees during the 9/30 raid.  Thanks to a really fantastic display of teamwork, our raiders pulled off the following achievements:

Thank you all once again for all the effort and time you put into our raid this week.  And I am sorry for my (and everyone's) incessant giggling during Ignis.
